Returns, Exchanges, Cancellations, order errors and faulty parts

For information regarding incomplete, damaged or fault items, incorrect parts or exchanges, please refer to our Returns and Exchanges section.

DEPOSIT PAYMENT FOR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES

Depending on if you order at our store or via another means we may ask for you for a deposit for us to hold or order in a part for you or a time for one of our services. A deposit means “A sum payable as a first instalment on the purchase of something or as a pledge for a contract, the balance being payable later”.

If you order online, and a product is out of stock, incompatible or unavailable for any other reason, we will be in touch as soon as we become aware.

If you have requested collection from our store (SCC Performance), we will take a deposit. The balance of the payment will need to be taken from you in the store upon collection or installation. We will always inform you if we will need a deposit instead of full payment. Please note: Normally if you require to collect a part, we may need to see identification that you are the cardholder.

If you require to cancel a booking, we require 24hr notice or you may incur a cancellation charge. We take a deposit to hold a space for you for a specific time. If you do not turn up for your booking, we would have a space and a technician where we will not have a job to fill it.

DELIVERY

We aim to despatch goods within 24hrs of completion of the payment process for orders paid by credit/debit card or postal order. This is only for stock items, special order items may take longer but we will confirm when we receive your order.

We reserve the right even after confirming your online order via email to obtain quotes from delivery companies for the cost of delivery of your item and if the delivery cost is found to be more than the price previously charged to give you the option to pay the extra to have it delivered or to have a full refund. We will not be obligated to deliver the item at the previously charged price and put us in a loss-making situation.

We will post items via the delivery method selected however we accept no responsibility for loss, damage or late delivery through no fault of our own. In certain cases, it may be possible to claim compensation for lost items however we need to be notified within 7 days that the product has not arrived else we will not be able to claim and you may lose the money spent on that lost item. In the exceptional circumstances where we find we are at fault ie. lost order, we will send the item and refund all postage costs.

Goods ordered over the value of £50 or of large nature items below will generally be dispatched via the Royal Mail Network or business post, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm Monday - Friday, and require a signature upon receipt. If you cannot arrange for someone to be available to sign for the goods, please let us know immediately for an alternative delivery date or alternative delivery address to be scheduled.

Unfortunately we do not send overseas. We only deliver inside the United Kingdom.

WARRANTIES

Goods returned under warranty must be accompanied by a valid proof of purchase and will be dealt with as a matter of priority with the manufacturer, for quality control purposes and to establish whether the cause is a genuine manufacturing fault.

RTECSHOP.co.uk is not responsible for any carriage charges or labour charges incurred during the fitment, or removal of suspected faulty incorrectly ordered or supplied parts. All warranty claims are classed as a return to base warranty.

Painted alloy wheels have a 6-month warranty unless otherwise stated. This is only valid if they have been cleaned regularly, have not been kerbed and have no stone chips etc that have broken the lacquer. We suggest commercial wheel cleaners are not used on Alloy or Chrome wheels. Wheel manufacturers are so adamant about the potential damage from wheel cleaners that the use of these will void the manufacturer's warranty. Never pressure wash alloy wheels as this can badly affect the paint and will also void the warranty. We would recommend washing alloy wheels at least twice a week with a normal car wash solution.

Chrome wheels have no warranty owing to UK adverse weather conditions and suggest during the winter chrome wheels should be removed to avoid deterioration. Alloy wheels, especially polished or non-metallic plated wheels require special cleaning.

WHEEL WARRANTY - Please be careful not to kerb your alloy wheels or damage them in any way as this will void the manufacturer’s warranty. The use of any acid or acid-based cleaner on your wheels will also void your warranty.

GUARANTEE - All items for sale on this website are covered by a the respective manufacturer’s warranty, or our guarantee. Every item unless stated is covered for at least 6 months unlimited mileage (from the date of invoice) – some items are longer. Guarantees and warranties cover manufacturing defects and not misuse or abuse.

Special Order Items

If you would like to know the delivery timescale of an item, please contact our support team via the contact page. Some items are made to order and some are also shipped direct from the supplier, which can cause delays. After the worldwide pandemic, lots of suppliers are struggling with core materials to produce the parts and we have many back ordered lines. If You place the order and then decide to cancel once payment has been made there will be charges applied, please see our cancellations policy here Cancellations and Returns page.

PAYPAL Refunds

As of 5th March 2020, PayPal no longer refunded fee's to the seller in the event of a refund. As a result, when SCC refund your cancelled order, the Fee's charged from both PayPal and the Payment Gateway are lost by SCC. This has always been the case with debit & credit card providers.

Refunds if paid via Finance

If you paid by Finance then the cost of arranging the finance will be deducted from the refund (Detailed Below) as well as the Payment Gateway (1%) and Admin Fee (1%) as unfortunately the Finance provider deducts this from our refund amount. Deko Arrangement Fee: 6%. Klarna Arrangement Fee: 5%. Omni Capital Arrangement Fee: 8%

Maxton Design Specific Return Policies

We must make sure a product is in its original condition before it can be returned to us. If the protective film is removed it will void a return. Similarly, all of our products have holographic verification stickers, if this is removed, we cannot accept a return either. Fitting kits / Manuals – If a customer returns a product and it does not include a fitting kit or manual, Maxton deduct a £10 fee. There is a £10 fee because if a customer wishes to purchase a kit from us, this is how much it will cost us set by Maxton. Packaging - Items not sent back in their original undamaged Maxton Design Box may be refused

COMPLAINTS & QUERIES

RTECSHOP.co.uk always takes its relationships with customers seriously. We always try to offer a first-class level of service. If you are not happy with any aspect of our service or if you have any queries or comments, then please let us know.

We aim to reply to emails within one working day of receipt whether they are general enquiries or complaints. Please contact our team during opening hours.

PRICE MATCHING

In the unlikely event, you have seen the price cheaper at an online retailer or a store, we offer a price match policy meaning we will try to match or beat the price found. We strongly believe our customers would prefer to buy from a reputable store such as RTECSHOP.co.uk, established in 2001, rather than an online ‘bedroom seller’ or a company you have never heard of.

We go to great lengths and huge expense to keep as much stock on-site at our store and workshop and for our valued customers.

Please be sure when checking out our competition that the stock you are interested is in stock. A few simple terms and conditions apply:

• Products must be brand new, not end of line, boxed and in stock at the time of purchase.
• Only valid against products from authorised UK reputable stores/websites. Just because a domain name may be a (.co.uk) doesn’t mean it is a UK seller. Some of the biggest sellers in our sectors are companies pretending to be in the UK. Check out their contact address!
• You must supply proof, a quotation or a website link to the lower price
• No, we do not price match Amazon or eBay (Give us a break)
• If a product is not available to mail order, then the retailer must have an outlet within 50 miles of R –Tec Auto Design’s Main showroom and workshop
• If a product cannot be collected locally the Price Beat must include next day P&P
• We must be able to verify stocks
• Price Beat includes our warranty including our workshop fitting labour warranty, which is 1 year within our price, please check our competitor's offer an equivalent warranty with their price
• Price Beat excludes special orders and many accessories under £50
• Tyres are hard to price match. We will strive to get as close as we can to competitors prices, but many retailers sell out of date tyres and old stock
• To qualify, products must be like for like with regards to specification, colour & condition. E&OE

We respect your personal information and undertake to comply with applicable UK Data Protection legislation from time to time in place. You should be aware that: if we are requested by the police or any regulatory or government authority investigating suspected illegal activities, or upon receipt of a court order, to provide your Personal Information and/or information concerning your activities whilst using the Website we shall do so; and We reserve the right in our reasonable discretion to disclose details of your use of the Website in relation to any, or any threatened, Court Proceedings in connection with your use, or the use of anyone under your control, of the Website whether in connection with the matters set out in these Conditions or otherwise. R-Tec Auto Design Ltd is no longer trading. RTECSHOP.co.uk and SCC Performance are not associated with R-Tec Auto Design Ltd.

Proof of sending does not guarantee our receipt of your notice, you must ensure that you have received an acknowledgement from us, which will be sent within 5 working days of our receipt and should be retained by you.

We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor any activity and content associated with the Website. We may investigate any reported violation of these Conditions or complaints and take any action that we deem appropriate (which may include but is not limited to, issuing warnings, suspending, terminating or attaching conditions to your access and/or removing any materials from the Website).

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND RIGHTS TO USE

You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content supplied as part of the Website shall remain at all times vested in us or our licensors. Limitation of liability While we will use reasonable endeavours to verify the accuracy of any information we place on our website RTECSHOP.co.uk, we make no warranties, whether express or implied in relation to its accuracy. The Website is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis without any representation or endorsement. Unless specified in separate terms and conditions related to a particular product or service, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, in relation to the Website, or products or services offered on the Website whether by us or on our behalf including but not limited to, implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, compatibility, security, completeness, or condition or any implied warranty arising from course of dealing or usage or trade.

WAIVER

Nothing shall be construed as a waiver by us of any preceding or succeeding breach of any provision.

CAR MANUFACTURES WARRANTY AND CAR INSURANCE

RTECSHOP.co.uk cannot be held responsible if a part we supply or install voids or is detrimental to and O.E vehicle manufactures warranty or car insurance. Please always check with the relevant companies before you purchase or have a part installed.

Vehicle Manufacturer Warranty
Q. Will the fitment of an aftermarket exhaust system or component (such as Larini, Quicksilver, IPE etc.) invalidate the manufacturer warranty?
A. No – according to EU law.

However, many parties in the motor industry, seemingly unaware of the full facts supply incorrect information to owners. The facts are as follows: Significant European Union legislation regarding the motor industry was introduced in October 2003, known as BER, ‘Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002’. The BER covers subjects such as who can service a Manufacturer Warranted Vehicle other than the main agents, but more relevantly, which aftermarket parts can be fitted to those Manufacturer Warranted Vehicles, without invalidating the warranty. This legislation in fact gives motorists the freedom to decide, within certain parameters, listed below.

Vehicle manufacturer warranties will not be invalidated in the following instances:

Q. Where the replacement part fitted is of matching quality to the component used for the assembly of the motor vehicle?
A. Aftermarket exhaust systems are manufactured from a higher quality material than OEM exhausts: typically 304-grade stainless steel, or higher, and are manufactured using internationally-certified practices.

Q. Where replacement parts used are of the same specifications and production standards as those used by the Vehicle Assemblers?
A. A premium aftermarket exhaust is designed to fit to OE mounting parts and components such as catalysts without any modifications (including cutting, welding and bending of any OE parts). Fitting is a simple bolt-on bolt-off process which can be reversed or replaced at any time without causing damage to the vehicle or OE components.

Q. Where replacement parts manufacturers/suppliers are able to issue a quality certificate?
A. Premium aftermarket exhaust systems manufacturing processes and facilities are certified compliant by the strict guidelines set out by the EU & Internationally-recognised ISO 9002. Very few aftermarket exhaust manufacturers have such certifications.

On a separate note, if the vehicle manufacturer itself offers spare parts of differing quality (e.g. an "economy" or "premium line"), they cannot prohibit its contractual partners (i.e. main dealers and authorised repairers) from buying spare parts of the same quality/better from the independent market.

The European Commission declared that such clauses (as below) in a Warranty Document would represent 'An Unjustified Restriction For The Consumer’:

The BER (covering service and maintenance during the warranty period) prohibits vehicle manufacturers' warranties from including conditions requiring that all parts used must be the Vehicle Assembler's "original spare parts".

MAIN DEALER OPINIONS

Modifying your car goes against the principles of most vehicle manufactuers. Hardly any aftermarket parts are endorsed by vehicle manfuacturers.

Even though some performance part suppliers such as Eibach Suspension, supply parts to vehicle manufacturers. But any modification from the standard specification, if original (expensive) parts are not in place, most dealerships may frown upon and sometimes claim that newly developed faults have been caused by the parts that have been modified.

If you have a problem with your car, since installing car parts we have supplied, you should notify us before contacting your vehicle dealership. All of the parts that we supply at RTECSHOP.co.uk come with a warranty, which might mean that we can get our supplier to send out a replacement or we can help fix your issue.

We advise that you take any advice from your dealer or vehicle manufacturer with a pinch of salt and contact our team as soon as possible should your vehicle develop any sort of suspected fault, issue or unusual characteristic(s).

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Conditions (as amended from time to time) contain the entire agreement between you and us relating to the subject matter covered and supersede any previous agreements, arrangements, undertakings or proposals, written or oral, between you and us in relation to such matters. No oral explanation or oral information given by either of us shall alter the interpretation of these Conditions. You confirm that, in agreeing to accept these Conditions, you have not relied on any representation save insofar as the same has expressly been made a representation in these Conditions and you agree that you shall have no remedy in respect of any misrepresentation which has not become a term of these Conditions save that your agreement contained in this Clause shall not apply in respect of any fraudulent misrepresentation whether or not such has become a term of these Conditions.

LAW

The Conditions will be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom whose Courts will have exclusive jurisdiction in any dispute, save that we have the right, at our sole discretion, to commence and pursue proceedings in alternative jurisdictions.

A contract of sale shall be deemed to exist between RTECSHOP.co.uk and you when you receive a confirmation of order from us or an invoice. You must check that the order details, invoice and delivery address are correct and notify us immediately of any discrepancies. We advise that you print a copy of this confirmation for your own records.

INDEMNITY

You agree to be fully responsible for (and fully indemnify us against) all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including legal fees, suffered by us and arising out of any breach of the Conditions by you or any other liabilities arising out of your use of the Website, or products therein, or the use by any other person accessing the Website using your PC or internet access account, or the products therein.

OUR RIGHTS

We reserve the right to: modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, the Website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or the products therein, and/or change these Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part thereof) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change.

It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Conditions then you must immediately stop using the Website.

In an attempt to provide increased value to our Users, we may provide links to other websites or resources.
