St Albans Town Centre (10 mins Taxi, 45 mins walk)
St Albans has been a shopping destination for hundreds of years. Our street market’s roots extend back to the 9th Century. These days, the city is brimming with popular high street names and services and a delightful collection of specialist and independent stores and boutiques specialising in jewellery, fashion, beauty, home style and gifts.
The old train line (5 mins)
At the end of Lyon Way (The estate that R-Tec is located on) there is a picturesque ex-railway line that has been repaved into a cycle track/footpath. If it's sunny, it's a wonderful place to take a walk. If you go left, the path leads under a bridge and all the way to the Galleria shopping centre, or further into St Albans if you go right. It's a 5-minute walk from R-Tec to the bottom of the road, but from there you could walk for an hour or more with views of the countryside, Horses, a fishing lake all under the cover of trees.
